A former electrician, who decided to change profession after seeing Christy Moore perform on Irish TV, Dublin-born Traditional singer and bouzouki player, Daoirí (pronounced Derry) Farrell, is described as one of most important singers to come out of Ireland in recent years.
Six months after releasing the album, True Born Irishman, Daoirí won two prestigious BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2017 for Best Newcomer and Best Traditional Track, and also performed live at the awards ceremony at London’s Royal Albert Hall. In February 2018 he toured with Transatlantic Sessions and showcased at the Folk Alliance in Kansas in the same month.
Tickets: £16 Full. £15 Concessions.
Pete Says: Daoiri has come a very long way in a short space of time. Without doubt, one of the most influential exponents of Irish music performing to-day. This is certainly a ‘not to be missed’ concert
